Is the most interesting function of the organization! To determine how money can be spent effectively in order to get the work done, while accounting for these expenditures. My main responsibility is to manage the pay and benefits of CBL. However, it comes with its own set of challenges. Comparing your company’s salary with other organizations for competitiveness while maintaining internal equity, in my opinion is quite a challenge. It is not a job for those who seek to get answers from formulae or just another computer program… it requires intensive quantitative analysis and extensive deliberation on skills and competencies to come up with the right value proposition. Moreover, it does not end here… you would like to attract the right talent and at the same time would like your people to stay… so you are constantly gauging their performances and making sure that they have the right tools for the job. The best moment is when it all comes together in the form of a strategy that you need to implement. Believe you me there is never a dull moment.
 
The first thing that I love about my job is the pace of work. You never have enough time to dwell on an issue. What is expected are quick, well thought and intelligent recommendations to address queries that keep dropping into your mail box. Most of the time, you are the first one to anticipate an issue and the last one to close (Since you need to make sure that every opinion that matters is taken into consideration). Moreover, there is never enough that you can do because it is an ever changing aspect of the organization (anything that affects people affects the HR Function) and so there is always an opportunity to learn and excel.
